About Me Print E-mail
I am a Software Project Engineer with over five years of professional experience. I have recently completed my MSc in Smart Systems from University of Abertay Dundee. I am a unique combination of technical savvy, youthful energy and people skills – coupled with a proven on-time project delivery record, solution-oriented, can-do attitude and satisfied clients.

My experience in industry has allowed me to develop bespoke solutions for clients from business domains such as: education, trade, media, technology, communications and law; to name few.

My wide skill sets shows that I am a good learner and enthusiastic about new technologies. I can work fluidly in and around: ASP, ASP.Net (C#/VB), CFM, CSS, HTML, Joomla CMS, Kayako Support Suite, MySQL, PHP, VB.Net, xHTML, XML and XSLT. I am also well versed in various software packages like MS Expression Web, MS FrontPage, MS Office, MS SQL Server, Open Office, ORACLE 9i, Visual Basic, Visual Studio and Windows Server 2003.

With my three years of experience in software & web development and knowledge gained during studies, I have learnt that for any project it is necessary to have a structured approach and follow Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). It is very important to get things 'right at first time' or else cost of getting it wrong can limit the benefits of the project. Also, requirement analysis is the major and important task. Although requirement gathering takes time but if it is done properly, the project can be completed on time and as per customer requirement.

IT has enabled small to large organization to grow and improve the business processes. During my tenure with Universal Systems Architects & Technologies, I had been involved in integration of vendor API into a web application for calling cards management. This integration provided clear visibility of all transactions linked to calling card at all levels such as invoicing, printing and usage.

At Xencom, I installed, customized and managed support suite for clients and developed dashboards to provide ‘big-picture’ to the management. I was also responsible for creating, deploying and managing over 8 Content Management System using Joomla that allowed clients to have full control over their website, enabling them to perform frequent updates.

During my tenure with Xencom Group, I had developed an intranet Document Management System for a school for special need children. The Document Management System allowed school to manage documents easily and quick retrieval was made possible. The school also appoints volunteers which need to know history of a child. At the same time, access to all documents to volunteers can not be permitted. Access management permitted volunteers to access documents that they require while maintaining privacy of a child.

As a developer and my in depth knowledge in Joomla and Kayako Support Suite, I had been conducting end-user training. This also involved writing of user-manuals and project reports. I have also provided post-sales support and had been point-of-contact at various occasions. I have also managed pool of freelancers from all over the world as project coordinator with project manager and successfully delivered projects on time.

I have recently completed my post-graduate studies in smart systems which allowed me to gain knowledge of technologies involved in business automation such as auto identification technologies in conjunction with mobile applications. The course focused on planning, designing and development of smart systems that can enable business to improve business process and automation. During the course, I developed a RFID based access system, an automated weather station and mobile website for car parking.

For my masters’ project, I had proposed a smart system to manage airport passengers. The system creates a win-win situation for passengers, airlines and airports. Currently passengers are required to keep track of all their travel documents that include ticket, boarding pass, baggage claim tags and ID. The proposed smart system introduces one card that can be used as ticket, boarding pass, baggage claim tags and ID. The card also allows airport and airline personnel to get approximate location of passengers within airport which allows to keep security intact and reduce number of delays.
